Sir, |
Your letter of the 20th inst. has just
reached me. On the 14th inst. I wrote to you, notifying you that a train
of cars would be sent down for wood on the 20th, thus giving you more
than the four days notice which you request. |
On the 20th the train was duly sent down
according to promise, but no one was to be found to deliver wood. |
This requires explanation. It will be
clearly impossible to obtain transportation over the R. R. if the
Superintendent feels uncertain on dispatching a train whether it will
obtain any freight. |
