| I send you a copy of a letter received
from Mr J. M. D. Goldsborough Agent of the Manassas Gap Company,
asking to be furnished such articles from the Martinsburg Shops as are
essential to (our) their existence and ability to perform service and
to deliver to them the two locomotives from Leesburg. |
| You are authorized to affect the
arrangement proposed, provided the fair valuation of these Engines
Tools &c, be paid by the Company to the Confederate States in
transportation of Troops & army supplies. |
