Colonel, |
I am exceedingly obliged by your kind remembrance of the
difficulties I am encumbered with in the way of getting out My
Engines, and would gladly accept your offer. If I did not have the
experience of the No. 9 (repaired for me at the Raleigh shops) before
and since she came out, she has not made a trip she has not needed
repairs. The same state of things occurred on every instance with the other
Engines done up for me in other shops |
In fact, it is all Expenses, and nothing substantial or
in any way reliable about such work. I have just gotten 2 more lathes
and have now a full number of good mechanics in the shops here &
with your help to get me some supplies from Government, I think you
will find, I will take some of the pressure from your shoulders. I
say, Dear Colonel, see Major Ironton & ask him to hurry up the
hose I ask from you some time ago. I have asked Mr Lauton of the
P&R Road to a?d ????? for me as fast as it can be deld {Probably
"delivered"} |
