Dear Sir, |
Messrs Caldwell, Brondis & Wood,
Citizens of Logan County Ky and all Gentlemen of high standing --
socially and pecuniarily -- as also "Commissioners for the
Sinking fund -- and placed under the original organization of the
Memphis Branch of the Louisville & Nashville Railroad, in
custody of the Bond interest of Logan County in said Road. These
Gentlemen memorialize you with a desire that they may be
restored to their original power and in the absence of any other
resident representatives of the old management of said Road, they may
be placed in its Control. |
I have long been convinced that such an
arrangement would be the best that could be desired for its management
and certainly the most satisfactory to the stock holders. |
Knowing their loyalty to the Southern
Cause I doubt not the Road will be under their control equally as safe
& available for any military use that you may have for it as
heretofore. |
Very Respy &c |
