| Dr. Major, |
| I have the honor to inform you that I
yesterday shipped to the Columbus Iron Works via Macon, M&W car #127
loaded with 250 Bus nut coal & M&W car #207 loaded with 250 Bus. mixed
coal |
| These cars are both rather heavily loaded,
Eight tons being the maximum allowed to each car, whereas these two; as
also some others I have shipped contain ten tons, as the State
{Western & Atlantic RR} or "Joe Brown Road"
will only receipt for "a car load" which means what they may deliver
without being responsible for any loss. I think it best to make them
haul ten tons, while we only pay them for Eight; whenever we can do so. |
| Yours Respectfully |
