Colonel, |
On the occasion of the late "Stoneman's
Raid" on Macon and the R Roads centering here the enemy destroyed by
fire, on the Central R. R. {Central (of Georgia)
RR} about 30 miles from Macon, the greater portion of 500 cords
of wood which I had purchased for the service of this Armory. He also
burned 21000 shingles at "Gordon" on the same R. Road which had been
delivered by the contractors for this Armory. I respectfully request
that you will instruct me how to account for the property thus
destroyed. Is it necessary that a "board of survey" should be appointed
to investigate and report upon the subject. |
I have the honor to be |
Colonel |
Respectfully Your obdt sevt |
