| Sir, |
| Your letter of the 9th inst. informing us
of the necessity of sending cars to Sumpter City
{probably Sumter on the South Western RR} to bring away certain
lumber which you have delivered there was received this morning. |
| The Superintendent of the R. Rd. has been
urged to send the cars at the earliest time possible; but he thinks it
will be out of his power to furnish to them for shipping you lumber
before Wednesday or Thursday of this week. He thinks however that on one
of the days the cars will be sent down. |
| Please send invoice of the lumber when it
is loaded. |
