Colonel, |
The Post Q. Master at Macon informs me
that his recently received instructions forbid him to issue fire wood to
any officer not occupying public quarters. I cannot procure a supply by
any R. Road leading to Macon on account of the difficulty of providing
transportation and I cannot purchase from the country waggons, except at
prices far above the commutation price. In view of these facts I
respectfully request authority to purchase my allowance of fuel from the
M. S. K. at this Armory, at the Govt price. The difficulties of
transportation on R. Roads are such as to almost entirely shut out
individuals from this means of bringing into the city supplies of fuel. |
I have the honor to be |
Colonel |
Respectfully Your Obedt Servt |
