| In response to a written application I
made to Col Gorgas Chief or Ordnance at Richmond Va. after the receipt
of your last letter. I have just received the following telegram from
Col. Gorgas -- |
| "J. G. Minor has been directed by the Navy
Dept. to furnish you, if possible with transportation for coal
immediately." I will thank you to inform me as early as practicable
whether or not the cars have been furnished by Mr Minor as I am
entirely out of coal and my work must stop until I get some. |
