Captain, |
I beg to inform you that the entire set of
Stock Machines with shafting &c &c complete have been shipped in 56
cases this day and will leave Macon for Columbia tomorrow morning in
charge of G. W. Weston & Aaron Stevens as special messengers, and who
have heretofore operated the machines in part. They are transferred to
you permanently by order of Col Gorgas Chief of Ordnance I have given
them written instructions as to the nature of their duties as messengers
in charge of this machinery, and have directed them to telegraph to you
in case they meet with difficulty on the route to Columbia. Should this
be necessary it would be well for you to go yourself to them and give
such instruction as the nature of the difficulty may require. Weston has
a small family here, and will want leave & transpn to come back after
them which please furnish him with. |
I am Captain |
Respectfully Your Obdt. Svt. |
