Dear Sir, |
I telegraphed you this morning as follows,
"All our means were funded in April. Since the Govt has needed
all our power. We move no private freight and collect nothing for
expenses. If possible arrange for paying our account. We have not the
means to pay for provisions." The Govt owes us about $600 000.00
and we own individuals about $500 000.00 for supplies. |
We are unable to pay the most urgent
claims on us for small amounts. The people on our line who feed our
hands cannot continue to do so unless we pay them. |
If it were possible to continue the
business under this state of things, I do not think I would be doing
my duty to the Stockholders by continuing to accumulate such
embarrassing claims against the Company. The confusion growing out of
such a state of affairs may also embarrass me, as all system of
payments is broken up and it is next to impossible to keep accounts
clear and I must respectfully ask you to appeal to the authorities for
relief. |
Yours Respy |
