Dear Sir, |
This Road has only a few days supply of
Coal, and it will be impossible to keep up the Machinery unless it can
be obtained. We have spared no time or expense in the endeavors to
obtain it from the Officials of the Govt. having it in charge, and
conclude that nothing but a positive order from Head Quarters will
obtain it. This Road has never asked assistance from other Roads in
transportation and has materially enabled other Roads in
transportation and in keeping up their Machinery. |
We have furnished some Seven or Eight
Roads with a large amt of Castings necessary to keep them up. At this
time the Nashville & Chatta {Nashville &
Chattanooga RR} and East Tenn & Ga {East
Tennessee & Georgia RR} Roads are dependant on our shops to
keep up the Engines necessary between this and Wilmington. I beg leave
to call your attention to the importance of this Road being sustained. |
The Coal of the Country is all in the
Hands of the Government. |
Very Respy |
Your Svt |
