Dear Sir, |
I regret that I am again
compelled to call your attention to the fact that the Employees on the
R. R. have been attacked by an armed mob; from Paisons Camp: and the
Conductor shot, and the lives of others threatened while in discharge of
their duty at Houston; and unless you can protect the Employees, and
passengers, by an armed force the Cars will remain at Galveston, being
impossible to hire men at the risk of their lives to operate the Road. |
I would therefore ask, that
fifteen men well armed, with an officer in charge, that will see they do
their duty, be stationed upon the cars, to protect the public, as well
as the Employees. |
Very Respectfully Yours |
J. M. Brown |
