Sir, |
I have the honor to acknowledge the
receipt of your favor of the 1st ins. and I herewith hasten to comply
with your request. our road bed is much in want of cross ties and
several of the Bridges require rebuilding which with the limited
amount of labor at our disposal will require at least six months to
complete our machinery is idle for the want of machinist to repair it
we have but 2 locomotives in use 3 being in the shop awaiting repairs
we have made application approved by Col Sulakowski for the detail of
machinist to which we have received no reply in consequence of which
the Government in case of emergency will be deprived of a large amount
of motive power. |
when with the aid of a few machinist for
two or three months we can put our locomotive in running order. I
enclose a list of the Rolling Stock on this Road |
Respectfully |
Your Obt Svt |
