We cannot run our trains for
one half the "Columbia Rates" and as you left it with me to
fix our own rates I trust you will think the above too much. Our
contract with Capt. C. C. Sims to Charlotte I have not changed -- to
wit $2.00 for 100 lbs Augusta to Charlotte. Capt. C. C. Sims has
called upon us for a train of flats to haul cotton to Wilmington,
which I will furnish in about two weeks. |
I enclose you a copy of letter
addressed to Capt. Sims yesterday in regard to the receipts for Govt
freights from Charlotte which I wish you would give your attention. |
I telegraphed you on 25th
about the payment of our a/c for work done here but as yet have recd
no reply. Please let me know who will audit and pay this a/c as we
need the funds badly and would like very much to have it paid here, as
we are ??? of men, in fact here on one to send off with the a/c. |
I also telegraphed you for the
exemption papers of our men, please send them forward. |
Truly Yours |
C. B. Wallace |
