I respectfully request that Capt. E. T. D. Myers, of the
Provisional Corps of Engineers, be associated with Col. C. F. M.
Garnett and Lt. Col. Minor Meriwether on the commission for the
collection & distribution of R. R. Iron: and that, in addition to
his duties as a member of this commission he be charged, under the
direction of this Bureau, like his colleague Lt. Col. Meriwether,
with the duplication of R. R. bridges and the repair and
reconstruction of Rail-roads injured or destroyed by the enemy, and
judged necessary for the transportation of troops and supplies. I
