Prest. South Side Rail Road. Risn Rail Road dated Petersburg July
20th, 1863 in regard to the necessity of withdrawing the Rails from
the City Point Branch of the Road. |
| Engineer Bureau Aug. 4th 1863. Resp.
referred to Col. Stevens Corps of Engineers. Could the exchanged
prisoners be taken to & brought from the flag of truce boat at
City Point by the Steam Boats as the Engineers arrive aided at times
possibly by other boats? If this could be done the Road from
Petersburg to City Point could be dispensed with {about
9 miles of track}. |
