Sir, |
Your communication of 20th of July,
addressed to the Hon Sec of War, in regard to the necessity of your
company being allowed to remove the City Point Branch {of
the South Side RR} iron for repairs
of your track, has been referred to this Bureau. It has been decided
to allow your company to take up this iron for the purpose of
repairing your Road but the Govt. desires to have all of the iron too
much worn to make serviceable track. Col. C. F. M. Garnett, one of the
commissioners for removing rail road iron &c, absolutely needed by
the Govt. from unimportant R. Rds. has an office in Richmond, &
has full powers with instructions to open communication with you on
the subject of your letter at an early day. |
