engine & Flats be given to Piedmont R. R. without delay. |

Respectfully referred to the commissioners for the removal of iron
&c. The Sec of War directs that you consult with Capt. Sims, Supdt. of Transportation in regard to the judiciousness of allowing
the Piedmont R. R. Co. to have the locomotive & flats taken from
the Roanoke Valley RR & asked for by Mr. Harvie. If your decision
be favorable to Mr. H's request: you are hereby authorized to turn
over the engine & flats temporarily or permanently as conditions
satisfactory to this Bureau & which will secure the Government
entirely for the value of the property. |
