| I have directed Lt. L. A. Dade Eng to make
application for fifty negroes from the Richmond defences for work on
the Orange & Alexandria R. R. |
| Should he not be able to obtain them from
Richmond defences, you will turn over to him fifty negroes to be
selected by him from those sent to the {Richmond
&} Danville Road from the Richmond defences & forwarded
to you by Col. Talcott 1st Regt Engr Troops. |
