| Sir, |
| I resp'y recommend that authority be given
to impress in the county of Amelia in this State (90) ninety slaves
for the construction of R. R. bridge defences in that county, and that
Maj. W. ?. Basinger Comd'g at Mattoax, be charged with the execution
of the order of impressment, with the force of ninety negroes, Six
weeks will suffice for the construction of the proposed works; it is
therefore recommended that the slaves be impressed for that period. |
