Fifty men of the Navy mechanics were
ordered to report to you as soon as the enemy left the road and Mr
Harvie informed me that they had done so. They are now working at
Jetersville, and report that they are getting out timber under the
instructions of the authorities of the road. The whole Navy force were
subsequently placed under Lt Dade with instructions to consult with you
in their distribution and employment. I have to day instructed Lt Dade
to report to Col Blackford in accordance with your suggestions. |
The Q. M. General has telegraphed to the
Quarter Master who has charge of the impressed teams to turn over six
teams to Lt Col Blackford as you desired. |
