I respectfully request that
authority be given to a commission consisting of Colonel Chas. F. M.
Garnett and Capt. Geo. E. Walker Engr. Corps P. A. C. S. to impress
for the use of the Government the iron rails, rolling stock and scrap
iron of the Roanoke Valley Rail Road. |
A part of the materials thus
collected it is proposed to employ in repairing and assisting some of
the important rail road lines now in an unsatisfactory condition --
the remainder to be employed on the Danville R. Rd. Extension, known
as the Piedmont Rail Road. |
