| Engr Bureau 23 June 64 -- Respy referred
to Hon Sec'y of War for instructions in regard to labor. The question
of the defences of these bridges is one of very great importance just
at this time. I am to say that the Mattoax bridge over the Appomattox
is quite well defended. Flat Creek bridge feebly. Defences on the
other bridges still incomplete for want of labor. |
