Endorsement on letter from Charles Ellis,
Prest. R. & P. RR. {President, Richmond
& Petersburg RR} dated Richmond Va. June 9th 1863, suggesting
reasons why it would be injudicious to permit the flag of truce boats
to run up to Port Walthall, &c. and referred to the Engr. Bureau
for consideration in connection with the proposed removal of iron by
the Secy of War. |

referred to Col. Garnett and Capt. Walker, commissioners for
collecting and distributing railroad iron, &c, for consideration
in connection with other papers on the same subject." |
