| Your letter of the 26th inst.
addressed to the Hon. Sec. of War requesting that an Engineer officer
be directed to repair an unsafe bridge over the Appomattox at
Petersburg, has been referred to this Bureau. |
| Col. W. H. Stevens has been
directed to assign an officer to the duty and it is hoped that the
repairs will be completed in a few days. |
