Endorsement on letter of Colonel W. H. Stevens of May
27th enclosing one from Capt. C. H. Dimmock addressed to him of May
22d asking that his party be protected while securing the railroad
iron on the other side of the Blackwater. |
"Respectfully referred to the Sec. of
War with the recommendation that protection be given, if possible, to
the Engineer Officer and his working parties until the iron (8 1/2
miles) be taken from the Seaboard & Roanoke R. Rd. to a point on
the right bank of the Blackwater |
