| Please inform me whether duplicates of the
bridges over the N & S Anna Rivers on the Fredericksburg R. R. {Richmond,
Fredericksburg & Potomac RR} have been already constructed, & If not whether there is any
timber on hand suitable for the purpose. A letter from Genl R. E. Lee
has been referred hither, calling attention earnestly to the
importance of the speedy reconstruction of them & other bridges on
the same line in the event that they are destroyed by the enemy. |
