I accept of the propositions made by you
in the communication above written; bearing date May 9th 1863 with
this modification of the 3d. proposition, viz. that in case the
"quantity of scrap iron broken castings and the like"
furnished by the company, be not equivalent in value, to the
difference between the re-rolled iron and that taken from the Piedmont
Road; the Richmond & Danville Rail Road Company will make up the difference by paying for
the deficiency, the cost and charges to the Government that may be
incurred in procuring an amount of iron equal to the residue of the
iron taken from the Piedmont Rail Road Co. |
