| On the 14th of Feby I applied for the
detail of private A. Saunders of the 25th Batn Va Vols as requested by
you to aid in laying the track on the Piedmont R Rd. Major W. M. Elliott
Commanding the Battalion replies as follows. "A. Saunders is not a
member of the Battalion; he failed to pass the examination made by the
Surgeon; therefore he was not recd." Should you still need his services
I suppose you may secure them by direct application to him. |
