| Your letter of the 27th ulto has been
recd. A requisition in your favor for $20,000 for the completion of
the Holston & Watauga Bridges will be promptly issued; this,
together with the $50,000 previously issued, makes the $70,000
required. |
| Instructions in regard to the Rome &
Blue Mountain RRd will be sent as soon as possible. The reason for
delay has been forwarded you in a letter recently sent. |
| If you will send a list of such men in the
Army as you may wish for overseers or assistants and efforts will be
made to have them detailed with orders to report to you for duty. |
