| A letter was written yesterday to the Hon.
Secy of War respectfully requesting him to direct the Chief of the
Bureau of Conscription to detail for work on your Road such employees
as shall present certificates from yourself, to the effect that they
are really engaged in your work. |
| The Secy of War has made the following
endorsement. |
| "Conscript Bureau |
| "After being enrolled, such employees
as Capt. Myers may certify to be necessary for the prosecution of the
work, may be detailed so long as employed & then be reported to
next Camp of Instruction." |
