| I enclose herewith, in accordance with
your request of yesterday the drawings of a casemate battery. I should
suppose however that the construction here indicated is more elaborate
than will be found necessary or expedient in the case of the Danville
defenes. |
| Please inform me whether you took with you
the drawings of the pile driver about which you spoke to me. I hope to
be able in the course of a week or two, to put the vertical pile
driver at present in use here at your disposal. |
