| Your letter of 25th Inst applying for 200
shovels or spades for use on your road has been recd & submitted to Col
Gilmer. He directs me to inform you that the supply on hand is too
limited to justify him in granting your request, especially as he is in
daily expectation of large calls for military purposes. |

will undertake to re-blade promptly such injured handles as you may have
on hand. |
