| By Col. Gilmer's directions, enclosed I
send you a copy of a note received from your Supt. Mr. S. Ruth
enclosing a report of a Section Master to the effect that five of the
negroes recently turned over to you had escaped. |
| The Colonel desires me to call your
attention to the matter as one of importance, demanding vigilance on
the part of the company. |
