| In order to settle the claim of Gov.
Morehead for rail road iron belonging to him {the
Atlantic & North Carolina RR} seized last April to
construct a rail road from the wharf to Fort Macon it is necessary for
the Department to know by whom & by what authority the said iron
was seized. I would therefore be much obliged if you would give me
this & any other information you may have in regard to the matter.
Also please state what the price of said iron was at that time &
in September. |
