| Your letter of 8th inst asking that Jos.
T. Stone, now employed as Chf Engr on the Savannah & Albany RRd.
{Atlantic & Gulf RR} be sent to you for
duty to assist in renewing the track of the Ga RR from Social Circle to
Stone Mt. was recd on 12 inst. and on same day Maj. Screven Prest. of
the Albany Road was telegraphed to send Mr. Stone to you at once. Of
this action you were also notified by Teleg. on same day. |
| I now enclose to you for Mr. Stone, a
letter from the Chief of this Bureau, appointing him Assistant Engineer,
with the salary of $333.33 1/3 per month. You will transmit the same to
Mr. Stone as soon as practicable. |
