| With the approval of the Hon Sec of War, I
hereby authorize you to endeavor to secure on the best terms possible
(impressing if necessary teams &c for the purpose) the railroad
iron lying between Fredericksburg and Acquia Creek {on
the Richmond, Fredericksburg & Potomac RR}. Special effort
should be made to secure the iron beyond the Potomac Creek, as well as
that nearer: the best way of doing so is left to your own judgment.
Funds will be placed in your hands to meet the necessary expenditures. |
