Captain, |
A letter written by Mr. Eldrige for you
and dated 6th Oct. calling my attention to the importance of receiving
promptly an additional supply of railroad iron, has been received. |
I have had a conversation with Col.
Garnett on the subject and urged upon him the importance of pressing
forward the iron without delay. He assures me he would do all in his
power and has just sent you some of the iron taken from the
Fredericksburg and Potomac RR in addition to that going forward from
the Roanoke Valley RR. |
