| I have received a notification from His
Excellency John Letcher Gov. of Va. to the effect that some of Dr. J.
W. Wood's hands employed in the service of the Va. Central R. Rd. had
been impressed, and either had been or were soon to be in Richmond on
the Defenses. |
| I wish you to give directions to have
these hands released promptly and returned to the Va. Central R. Rd.
authorities as it is of the utmost importance to interfere in no way
with our rail roads. |
| Dr. J. W. Wood's is a citizen of Albemarle
Co. and his address is Ivy Depot Va. Central R. Rd. |
