Qr Mr General to the Hon. Sec. of War suggesting that pontoon boats be
sent to the Holston and Wataga Rivers on the Va & Tennessee Rl Road. |
| "Major W. P. Smith will please to report
as promptly as possible what number of pontoons can be supplied,
including those at Gordonsville, their condition &c to Capt. Hugh. T.
Douglass had the charge of the boats stored at Gordonsville, and may
have left them in the care of the Qr Mr at that place. |
