I am instructed by General Johnston to call your attention
to the necessity of immediately rebuilding th Rail Road Bridge
across Pearl River. He considers it a matter of great importance, as the
safety of the Army may in a measure depend upon the facility with which
supplies are obtained in Jackson. |
