| The Chief Qr Master of the
Dept. reports to me that it is absolutely necessary to procure corn for
this Dept from some section of the country where it is more abundant
than it is here. |
| Agents have been sent to
Georgia to procure it, and have purchased thirty thousand bushels and
have been ordered to purchase seventy thousand more. But they cannot
procure transportation. |
| I respectfully urge that the
matter be brought to the notice of the Supt of R. R. transportation,
with orders to provide the transportation if possible. |
