| I think it ??? be well to push on with your
regiment to Salem or as near as possible. Go in the cars, take a piece
of artillery with you, take horses at or near Salem. You can get a guide
at or near Salem to explain the country immediately around. I think that
will cut off all retreat unless the enemy pass McClausland. |
