Sir, |
I am instructed to acknowledge
your communication of the 21st Inst and to state that under existing
circumstances and in view of the fact that one of the engines on the H.
& T. C. R. R. has been damaged, the order for one to be sent to this
place is suspended, but the Major Genl. Comdg hopes that your road may
be in a condition to spare an engine at no distant day, should one be
needed here, as it, in all probability be, on a very short time. |
The Major General Comdg begs
to state that the necessities of the service require that there should
be sent to this place six flats, and consequently directs that you send
this number from your Road to Beaumont, from which place they will be
sent here by steam boat. |
In haste |
I am, Sir, Very Respy |
