| I am instructed etc. to
inquire of you whether you will be willing to serve on duty in the Engr
Dept. and give up yr connection with the Rl. Rd. In case you should, the
Maj. Genl. will be glad to retain you in service, but should you prefer
remaining with the R. R. Co. it will be necessary for him to relieve
you. He directs me to express to you his appreciation of the ability and
zeal with which you have discharged your duties in the Engr Dept. & to
say that he would be pleased to retain you in yr present capacity. |
