VIII All mechanics and others detailed in
the various Rail Roads, and work shops, machine shops, foundries &c.
subject to the instructions of Capt E. L. Heriot Inspecting Engineer of
Rail Roads, they will not leave the duty to which they are assigned,
unless by his orders from these Head Quarters under the penalty of being
arrested as deserters, and treated accordingly. |

X Capt. Jno. E. Garey Asst Q. M. will send
an officer to Washington County Tex. and impress Negroes to shell corn,
purchased or impressed in that county. He will also have the passenger
cars on the {Houston & Texas} Central and
Washington County Rail Roads taken possession of and loaded with corn,
if there are not a sufficient number of box cars to bring the corn to
this place. |
