I am in receipt of your letter of May 1st, and I have to
say in reply that I desire you to secure, if possible, a ful & fair
trial of the turn table and the existing connection between the
Charleston & Savannah Road and the North Eastern Road. I am inclined to
the opinion from the information already before me that this connection
can be made to answer the present wants of the Military Service. I
have endorsed to this effect to the War Department. I will ask you to
give your personal attention as far as possible to the trials when made
& note carefully the difficulties and report the result to me. |
