| In reply to your commn of this
days date, I am directed by the Lt Genl Comdg to say that Col Wm M.
Wadley A. A. G. is in charge of all our arrangements with Rail Road as
to their management & for transportation of troops & Govt. supplies. The
restrictions imposed by the Comdg Genl of the Dept on the shipment of
supplies out of the Dept is a matter exclusive of Col Wadley's
jurisdiction, and such restrictions as have been imposed in this Dept
will remain in full force, and be enforced by Commandants of Posts on
the confines of this Dept. Such arrangements as have been entered into
with Governor Pettus for the supply of families in this Dept are deemed
sufficient and will be continued as heretofore. The same orders as to
the shipment of supplies for private families will remain in force as
heretofore. |
