Upon your positive assurance
that it will not in any ay interfere with or be disadvantageous to the
Government either in the transportation of troops or supplies you can
let the cars go. It is possible that the enemy may succeed in opening
the canal across the neck and in that event it is probable that the cars
of all the roads may be needed for transportation of troops & supplies. |
